Secret Disguises

Anyone dressing up as Secret Saturdays or Tutenstein characters this Halloween? Please send me your photos, and I'll post them here on Monsterama! And if you're in the Philippines, I'd love some pics of the Secret Saturdays Pumpkin Party where "...Doc, Drew and Zak Saturday are giving out prizes to kids who can help them solve mysteries by identifying the disguised villains who are trying to sneak into their Halloween party."

Mummy Art

While I'm still thinking about Tutenstein, here's a link to the online porfolio of character designer extraordinaire, Thomas Perkins. Check out his Tutenstein stuff!

TutenToys?

I'm not at all sure what this news item might mean for the future of my undead creation, Tutenstein, but it sounds pretty good! Hasbro and Discovery Kids have combined into a new entertainment concern, and Tut is now in the same boat as the likes of G.I. Joe and My Little Pony. Who'd a thunk it?

Tut-Update

Nothing going on as far as I know in regards to my old cartoon show Tutenstein. The Discovery Network is in the midst of a major rebranding, and there's no way to predict where the Tutenstein cartoon will fit into the mix. In the meantime, here's a German site with a huge slew of images for those of you who liked the little Mummy Boy.

Mummy Mania!

If you're in the Vermont area this afternoon, get on over to
The Henry Sheldon Museum for Mummy Mania! Egyptian Mummies and How They Were Made, where kids can practice the ancient Egyptian technique of mummification on a toy or doll. The embalming bash runs from 1 to 3 p.m. beginning with a talk by mummy expert S.J. Wolfe, followed by mummy making, creating a Halloween mummy mask, hieroglyphics lessons, and an episode of my cartoon Tutenstein. Wolfe also discusses the context surrounding a mummy of a small boy acquired by the museum.

The Emmy Returns

I'm so proud! My little dead boy is nominated for another Daytime Emmy Award this year for Special Class Animated Program. He won in 2004 in the same category, and I honestly thought that was the beginning and end of it. Good luck, little Pharaoh, as if you needed any more golden trinkets.

All Hail Tutenstein

My little dead kid is all set to make his second appearance on a float in the Macy*s Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, running from 9am-12 noon on November the 24th. Drop by and see the Pharaoh if you're in Manhattan, or watch the parade from the comfort of your own home on NBC. Want to see a little 'making of' the Tutenstein float? We can do that.

New Dead Kid On The Block

Happy Thursday the 13th, and welcome to Monsterama, where kooky cartoon monsters roam free range. As you might imagine, based on my own animated creation Tutenstein , I'm a bit of a fan of creepy cartoons. Hope some of you feel the same way, because I'm here to share. While I'm getting set up, feel free to wander over to the official Tutenstein Website and dig around in the sarcophagus. For perfect 13/13 vision of this blog, I humbly suggest downloading the free fonts Unfinished Sympathy, and SF Slapstick Comic to enhance the effect. Go ahead and download all the rest, too. It's a great resource.
