July Is Saturdays Month...

... and not just because that's our month on the CN 2009 Calendar (check out that sasquatch Nood above!). July is also the month we launch the Toy line... all this cool stuff is out now, so do me, the series, and cartoons on Cartoon Network a big favour and support the Secret Saturdays! Later this month (the 21st) will see the release of the first Saturdays DVD, too, and the second one has just been announced. It's starting to get exciting!

Mr. Stephens,

I'm so happy about Secret Saturdays volume 2 DVD coming out this October.

I thought The Atlas Pin was OK.
I loved hearing Argost saying to Munya ''naturally I blame you!''

I saw House of Wax recently, and Vincent Price was great in it! He was very creepy!

o_o... The second DVD cover is amazing. Green with Komodo, Cherufe, Kumari serpent and hints of Amarok and Owlman... I'm so in love.

The toys are amazing. They ARE out right now like you said, but what has been shipping so far is really limited (no cryptids yet...T_T).
I got my Cryptipedia, Claw and Fire Sword a couple days ago though and I couldn't be happier.
I've done a thorough examination and writeup of them on the Cryptid Saturdays forums. As soon as I finish taking pictures they will get a permanent detailed file on the site for you internet folks to enjoy.

So here's the question (Cryptipedia and the Atlas Pin) how is the "Griffon" spelled on the show in direct reference to Doc's fighter jet?

Second... I'm also kind of upset about your link on "the toy line". I had a partnership with them on a previous site and they betrayed me and destroyed my work as a fan and an artist all for money.
In my opinion I do not think they deserve your patronage. ::sigh::

I can't wait! I'm really excited! I'm asking for this stuff for my birthday. I need to get the Claw and Firesword. I'll get them soon. And I pre ordered the video game from Game Stop. October?! I hope I can wait that long...

Great job on the show! The Atlas Pin was filled with actiony awsome stuff! Twists and turns everywhere! I loved it!

Hey Spectre, I stay out of politics as far as web content goes. I consider anyone promoting Secret Saturdays stuff a friend of mine.

And it's 'Griffin' with an 'I', by the way.

I'm hoping to learn about Argost in Kur Rising. Corey Burton did a great job with him in The Atlas Pin.

I still haven't decided if I want to purchase the Van Rook action figure or not.

Jay -

I think I may have asked this already, but what inspired you to create Van Rook?

Jay said...

Van Rook? Nothing specific. He's pretty much totally out of my own head. I suppose the helmets are inspired by the original Iron Man, but his character is an original composition.

I'm excited and at the same time annoyed because so far I haven't seen anything around my area toywise for the Sats. I guess I'll wait it out and try having a look maybe next week or something. I'd like to support the Sats as much as I can afford to so I'd like to see some stuff pop up so I can one day. Hopefully soon. T_T

Looking forward to the dvd releases and everything else in the future, too. And I said it before but I'll say again...Atlas Pin rocked! Counting down to the Kur episode! Ooh, I got chills. XD

Oh, Mr. Stephens I wanted to ask you something about the original 'Cryptids' idea: was Okapi a girl or boy?

Oh and Mr. Stephens, PLEASE tell me there will be Abbey and Doyle action figures. They are awsome!

And what inspired you to be a writer/cartoon creator? I really want to be a writer. It's you and my favorite author (Alison Croggon) who inspire me. So what/who inspired you?

Agent Spectre said...

Kira, you're in luck! A 6" Doyle figure is already out!

Here is a pic of the prototype.

There's a full list of what's known to be coming out around the site at cryptidsaturdays.com.

And lol... if we ever get Abbey.. there better be a Beeman in the works somewhere... he's totally cooler than her! XD
Speaking of which... aside form the micros.. Drew, Argost and Fisk seem to be completely out of the picture. It makes no sense.

Hyakuretsu-Ken said...

Yes, I badly want an Argost to go with my Munya when I manage to obtain one. XD

I also must cast a hopeful vote for a Baron Finster for the regular sized figures line in the future. He could cram into a larger package, right?! :D

And Ulraj.

I've been checking all my stores weekly for the past 2 weeks hoping someone would get these out on the shelf early, but no luck yet.

Not sure about that toy site. Anyplace that charges more for a figure based on the character (Zak)won't be getting my business =)

Any word if there might be a Sats DVD box set down the road?

Due to popular demand, I have edited out a link.

Lol, Dex and I are normally two of a kind. I've been going out at least once a week since April, and more recently calling on my days "off" from the stores. I consider "Cryptid Hunter" from our forums the luckiest for finding Munya at Target.

I agree about "scalping" toys, but sometimes that's necessary if you run a specialty store. I'm not supporting them or the concept in any way of course... but given that Zak and Doyle will probably be the best sellers being the only ones on the "good" side as of this wave.. they don't want to be left with a million baddies left over. (C'mon general public, show some love for the villains).
Too bad we don't have the investment to start an account with Mattel... I'd love to be a re-seller of the toys. It would solve all my problems, and I'd know they'd be going to some really awseome kids and other fans. :D

DVD box sets (Seasons) are I think what everyone would prefer. I can't stand the route CN has taken with these volumes that look practically the same for each show. I'm normally excited to buy DVDs, especially because I love licensed goods (things I generally want aren't made officially) and spiffy boxart, but who ever had the idea to do the DVDs this way is making it so painful. They're not offering much, especially when I can just have them already purchased and downloaded straight to my comp the day after they air thanks to this amazing service called iTunes. XP

Regarless... I will probably own 3 copies of each... >_> (curse you corporations taking advantage of collectors ::shakes fist::)

Sorry for my tangent... but I have a sick, and insatiable love for the merch, and thats what this post was about, right....right? XP

Well at least with the DVDs you're getting some bonus stuff that's not on iTunes.

Of course if they were to do a box set and take a page from LucasFilm's merch juggernaut, they'd put some different bonus features on it so you'd have to buy it again ;-)
