Loren Coleman at Cryptomundo has reported that eminent Cryptozoologist John A. Keel passed away on Friday, July 3rd. Keel was a controversial and influential writer and investigator, best known for his work 'The Mothman Prophesies' about a cryptid sighted in West Virginia in the late 1960's, that was later made into a Hollywood film of the same name. Keel's theories about cryptid sightings, which combined other paranormal and occult areas of study with cryptozoology, influenced the creation of The Secret Saturdays. As a tribute, I recommend checking out one of his many weird, wonderful books out from your local Library. See you on the other side, John.

Goodbye John A. Keel

As a guy seriously interested in cryptozoology i will miss John Keel. In his live he accomplish a lot , and not only about mothman many other cryptids and legends , but to inspire a future cryptozoologists to believe there is still mystery left unsolved and maybe one day some other cryptozoology inspired by him will discover something that was never south to be possible?...He and his work in my opinion a truly reach immortality and be remembered as long as there is a something unknown:).
Goobye John, I really loved his ideas definitely gonna pick up a few of his Cryptozoology books at the library, he's far more important than Michael Jackson any day (and definitely more important than Billy Mays T_T.)
I remember the movie Mothman Prophecies! IT WAS CREEPY.
yeah we discovered the Mothman Prophesies in the school library in High School and it played a big role in everything else I did in my life.
He will be missed.
