Saturdays Are Back!

The Secret Saturdays return to Cartoon Network with new episodes beginning this Friday, April 10th at 8:00 PM. Because of where CN decided to break the season up, we come back with two irregular episodes, neither of which feature a cryptid of further the Kur Stone plotline. They are both pretty cool stand-alone stories, though! Because what would've been the next episode, "Eterno", is so particularly unusual, we decided to air it the following week, so this Friday will premiere "Black Monday" instead. They will revert back to the original sequence for future rebroadcasts and DVD collections. Can't wait to see what you all think of the rest of the original run!

Ah, I was wondering what was up with Cartoon Network airing the Black Monday episode. I saw the sneak peek on their website and...I find it hard to believe that Eterno could be any stranger.

Well, Black Monday is just more dynamic for a 'comeback' I guess.

Excellent news! Finally, something good on TV.

Dynamic... great word.

At least with Saturdays you always know the next TRUE, correct order episode thanks to the short clip during the credits. Whoever came up with that idea deserves a medal, it saves me a load of headaches.

Can't wait. I could use a good pick me up. Please tell me Beeman will be back and having a larger part in SOME future episode no matter how far away...
I've seen "Guess who's going to be dinner" and "The Swarm at the Edge of Space" at least 25 times each now, dead serious. I'm not even sure if they're my favorite episodes... I just can't get enough of the characters.

I find Doc Monday to be quite the entertainment heres my subtitles

Ah the ol alternate dimension evil twin chestnut :)

Evil Komodo (Komodo Monday?) is awesome! I hope he gets to meet up with Argost. I'd love to hear them together!

What's the deal with Drew's sword shooting blue beams instead of fire?

Zak Saturday said...

The fire sword only works during the day so when you use it during the night it shoots out those beam things. In Van Rook's Apprentice I'm pretty sure she used the fire sword on Argost and it shot out a beam.

Jay said...

Yup. The Firesword is powered either by sunlight or moonlight, with differing effects.

Zak Saturday said...

What exactly does that beam do and what is it made of?

By the way, folks, I said "more unusual", not 'weirder'. Contrary to all the posting on SS message boards, next week's episode, ETERNO is not 'weirder' than Black Monday, it's just more atypical. Even though Black Monday is decidedly strange, it still features the whole Saturday Family together (two versions, in fact!), while Eterno breaks up the action, and divides the team. It would've been like coming back with 'Guess Who's Going To Be Dinner?', if you catch my drift. That's what made us decide to hold it back a week.

Eterno is still good and weird, though!

I have to say I'm so excited to see the Saturdays back with new episodes.

Black Monday was quite interesting, and also pretty funny. I think I've taken a liking to Doc Monday. Mmm, shiny! XD Mirror Komodo, as well. I wasn't expecting that!

Can't wait to see more episodes and to see Argost return. (Oh, and the toyline coming out.)

Hey! I see nothing wrong with that! grr! Anyway, they never should have taken such a long break. I'm having a slight resistance towards everything now that I'm not in my lovely Saturdays groove anymore. I'll just keep trying to convince myself everything is okay.

I also dread to ask what SS message boards are being looked at...::sigh::

But, but! this is all wonderful. Thanks! It's unanimous... "Komonday" is win.

I had nothing to do with how CN decided to break up the first 26 episodes. In fact, I've been pretty ticked off about it. As I've said before, we wrote the first thirteen like a 'first season', with a big, cliffhanger ending. Stopping just shy of that finale drove me nuts! Anyway, hope you all get back into the grove of the series. Big things are lurking just around the corner! And yes, there will be more Epsilon and Francis, Beeman and the Secret Scientists, the return of the Mondays, and, of course, Argost.

Agent Spectre said...

Haha, thanks, Jay. Getting a response from you makes me not so...I don't know... depressed?

I know it had nothing to do with you. CN really ticks me off sometimes as well. I remember a while back we were discussing the break up of "seasons", and here you are proving everything I said right, but then CN's scheduling has to go screw it up.

Hearing "Francis" and "Beeman" is music to my ears. Never have I met such a diverse group of characters that could make me smile and fill up every part of my essence. How much do you love them?
"...of course, Argost" Yes, of course. I try to wean myself off the ever so tempting influence of that remarkable devil, and here Hyakuretsu-Ken and Jay pull a tag team to lure me back in. Wait, you were just answering a question? No,no... it's definitely a conspiracy against Spectre. ::smirks::

So does the season end on episode 13 and then wait until season 2 or will it just go directly to season 2 after episode 13?

The episode was really great, but I really thought that figuring out that Drew wasn't Drew (In the airship) was too easy. Drew (The real one) believes in magic when there is no rational explanation, and that Drew (the fake one) knew immediatly why everything was weird when Zak Saturday and Zak Sunday were together.

Zak Saturday said...

Zak Sunday = Zak Monday

Fake Drew = Way too caring :O

Real Drew : Caring but doesn't drink that much hot chocolate

Seems CN is still ticking everyone off with their seemingly random changes! Changing the order of episodes is uncool ... like telling Rembrandt he can paint whatever he wants, just has to use a certain size canvas and is limited to a certain number of colors. I've just about had enough of them! Of course, can't stop watching because of some of their great shows. It is a conundrum, I tell you!

Great job on "Black Monday!" Usualy, the whole evil twin thing feels like a cliche, but the Saturdays pulled it off! Great episode! Yay!

When the episode was ending, I was scared that ya'll were wasting a perfect chance for a different kind of baddie with the talking Komodo (the embodiment of epic, btw) but you completely surprised me at the end! So excited to see what the two Mondays will do next! They are my new favorite villians! And that is saying something since VanRook is played by perhaps the greatest voice actor ever: Corey Burton.

I hope we can expect Secret Saturdays to stay on this time for more than 10 episodes

Hi, I really like your work and hope that this interests you.

I am attempting to amass a large collection of portraits of Frankenstein's Monster in as many different styles and in as many different media as possible as an ongoing art project. The only stipulation is that the size is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (standard artist trading card size) and that each card has name, date, title and anything else you care to add on the back.

I welcome cards from both amateur and professional artists.

I will be leaving blank cards with instructions and mailing address in galleries, colleges, art shops, on buses, handing them out in the street and wherever else I can think of.

If you think you can spare the time to produce a little something, please send a portrait to:

A Patchwork Of Flesh
45 Silversea Drive
Westcliff on Sea
Essex
SS0 9XD
United Kingdom

Each card I receive will be uploaded at http://apatchworkofflesh.blogspot.com/ to produce an on-line gallery, I then hope to put on an exhibition of these cards in a gallery.

I'm pretty angry at CN for the long gap between episodes too.

I can't wait to watch the episodes that deal with the original story line about the Kur Stone. I hope Doyle comes back. He's cool.

Black Monday, was different, but entertaining. Evil Komodo & his black armor was quite a shock. Eterno's enemy scared me a bit. He was pretty freaky. lol

Mr. Stephens, you don't have a twitter, or something like that, do you? =D

I just saw the first five minutes of "Cyrptid v. Cryptid" as a preview on CartoonNetwork.com and it looks SOOOOOOOOO good! I can't wait!

This really is a fantastic show. Great job!

Looks like I'm denied a new episode on my birthday next week... T_T

However, the good news now is... The Season 2 finale won't be airing during the Comic-Con week!
Thank you powers that be!(Though I will still be sad about missing an ep that week)

Eterno was very awesome. Dig the Centiscarabs, Cheechoo's excitement, and of course Arthur Beeman's brief but glorious return. bwahahaha. I still disagree and think that would have been a fine adventure to return on. :D
