Field Guide

Coming soon to a booksellers near you, The Secret Saturdays Official Cryptid Field Guide, loaded to the gills with art and info! I gotta tell you, I'm flattered as all heck to be referred to as a 'cryptozoologist' in the credits. Hope it doesn't tick off any of my honest-to-gosh Cryptozoologist pals.

Sounds awesome!
What'd be really cool is to have a DK Visual Guide type book for the Saturdays covering the characters, gear, lairs and such.

Omg, that's the cutest and most awesome thing I've ever seen. I'm so happy things like this are getting made! Can't wait, books make me so happy.

There was a previously unseen secret scientist in "Eterno," who Doc referred to by name, I just wondered how to spell her name. It sounded like Dr. Patakuteq. Is that even close?

Nice! Gonna have to pick that one up for my research. Speaking of which, in the episode Cryptid vs Cryptid: was that a cactus cat fighting Fisk?

Teknomage - I believe her name is Pachacutec.

Very splendid "finale" ep. I was quite amused, especially with Argost "This is my moment", and with Doc's recognition of the Alkali Horn sound. Seriously, I was on the floor laughing. I'm sorry, I'm just being weird. Glad to see a Cherufe again, and the Rackshasa was completely awesome.

That actually looks pretty neat. I might pick it up. Love the part that says, "Updated by Zak Saturday." Ha ha ha! Should be really interesting.

Can't wait to pick up the book, Jay.

One thing I have to comment on, though: the rakshasha from "Cryptid vs. Cryptid." I think calling it a cryptid is inaccurate, since it's technically a demon. STill, it was impressive to see.

Thanks, Josh. For the record, the field of study known as cryptozoology encompasses both hard science and folklore. The line of thinking is that there might be real, unknown/undiscovered creatures behind legends and mythologies from around the world... including 'demons'. In the show, of course, we are taking great creative license with this stuff-- pushing the envelope of what cryptids are-- but creatures like Naga, Rakshasa, Allegewi, and Owlman, which appear to be something other than mere animals, have always been included in the study of cryptids.

I can't wait to get the book this Summer.

F.Y.I., the cryptids from episode 13 are El Chupacabras, The Jersey Devil, Cactus Cat, Biloko, Koerakoonlased, Agogwe, Cherufe, and Amarok. I think that was it. Plus the Rakshasa.

Ah, thanks Jay. One of my cryptozoology books has a section dedicated to "little people", which covers fairies and demons as well as suspected small hominid cryptids. So I see your point. Regardless of what they're classified as, they're cool to see.

Is it gonna be one book pro season or all seasons with upcoming cryptids?
