News from way up high at Cartoon Network is that we have to change the name of our animated series from 'The Secret Saturdays', a title that everybody I've ever spoken to loves (including very nearly everyone at Cartoon Network itself!), to 'The Secret Adventures Of Zak Saturday', which sounds remarkably similar to 'The Sweet Life Of Zack and Cody' or 'The Life and Times Of Juniper Lee'. Ugh. The worst part is that the new title isn't as good at reflecting what our show is really about... it's like calling the Fantastic Four 'Johnny Storm and his amazing Friends'. Please let CN know which title you like best here. Thanks.

Name that Toon?

Done. "The Secret Saturdays" is a great title and I hope they come to their senses.
I've done it too. Changing The Secret Saturdays is a dreadful idea! TSS is catchy and sorta musical. Rolls off the tongue with ease. Their choice is a drag. Good Luck!!!
Unique name branding is important. The Secret Saturdays name is iconic, simple, and represents the Saturday family as a whole. Plus, it reads more clearly on a cable or dish schedule.

It would appear the CN execs are proving themselves quite capable of snaching defeat from the jaw of victory. Hope the grassroots campaign works.
I'd be curious to hear their logic on this one. They probably want a name which sounds more like the shows you mentioned.
Pope! Good lord, man, but we need to catch up. Your Batman Year 100 is an absolute triumph. As for CN, there is no logic involved in the name change whatsoever, only politics. Fortunately, the show itself is turning out extremely well. Thanks a million to all of you for the support.
I added my comment as well. I really just don't understand what CN is doing these days. It's like they're desperate to copy The Disney Channel & Nickelodeon, aiming to be a third-place knock-off. It's a shame to see them doing it with what has the potential to be, along with "Foster's", the network's only truly distinctive series that wouldn't fit in anywhere else.
The network used to have the best branding and image-making people on TV; the commercials alone were brilliant, often better than the actual programming. They've seen how well adult swim branding works; do they think that that's all just because of Family Guy reruns?
They wouldn't be animation executives if they didn't make dopey decisions from time to time, unfortunately.
At least the show looks awesome.

I can relate... I'm currently working on a show where the cool name has to be changed because somebody owns the rights to PART of the name. Hang in there...

consider the CN people told.
I said that "The Secret Saturdays" would look better on a lunch box. Which is to say that branding and marketing is also about "word of mouth". It's so much better to keep it simple and based around the actual show that it names.
I will spread the word as well to get more people to contact them. Good luck. Stick to your guns. It's important.

Sorry, but there is a reason, there is an animated show called The Secret Show running now. TSS vs TSS... there is a image problem.
Is a pitty, but if they let your show keep the actual name, they will have a brand conflict.

Raúl- I respect your opinion regarding "The Secret Show", but I doubt that merely having the same initials would cause that much conflict. Also, if it is an attempt to NOT sound too much like that title, then why choose an alternative name that sounds like a cross of two other popular shows? This really just seems like a case of executive bone-headedness and it needs to be nipped asap.

Never heard of the show, thought the title was catchy, felt compelled to write CN, done.
As for The Secret Show, I had heard of that. It struck a chord because it sounded like Clive Barker's "The Great and Secret Show" which it fortunately bears no resemblance to, ( --wouldn't make great children's fare, that.)
Also? And I told CN this in my comment, I'd totally buy a Secret Saturdays t-shirt. The other, not so much.
Anyway, best of luck with the campaign to make a better show.

Are they freaking crazy? The Secret Saturdays is probably the best title of a TV show ever. I commented on their thingymahootchie. The Secret Saturdays is no exageration one of only about 5 things I can stand to watch on TV and they want to throw a monkey wrench in the thing. Man...
